I. WARM UP (5 minutes)
* Game: “Guessing game”
farmer, policeman, office worker, actor,
teacher, doctor
+ Objectives: To help the students review the
vocabulary about jobs they have learnt in Tieng
Anh 4.
+ Procedures
Pictures (farmer, policeman, office worker,
actor, teacher, doctor)
- Tell students how the game is played. Give an
example.
- Divide each picture into pieces.
- Show each piece of the picture in turn.
- Ask students to guess the name of the picture.
- Continue to play the game until all the pictures
are used.
- Praise students if they play the game well.
- Tell students what they will learn in this
lesson.
II. PRESENTEATION (8 minutes)
1. Look, listen and repeat. (Track 45)
+ Objectives: To help the students understand
and correctly repeat the sentences in two
communicative contexts focusing on asking and

accessories of different jobs.

- Write stories students' attention to the picture
in Activity 3. Ask questions to help them
identify what jobs they can find in the picture.

and write them on the board. Get students to say

Game: “Number race”
- Divide the class into two groups. Each group
has five students.
- Give each student in one group a number so
that each group has equal numbers.
- Ask the questions, e.g. “What would you like
to be in the future? and allow time for students
to think. Then call out a number, have students
with that number from each group stand up and
shout out the answers, e.g. “I'd like to be ....”.
Praise and give points for the groups.
- The group with more points wins the game.
Praise the winner.

TEACHER'S ACTIVITIES
* Listen, point and say. (Track 47)
+ Objectives: To help students correctly say the
words, phrases and use sentence patterns to ask
and answer questions about the reasons why
someone would like to be a certain job in the
future.
+ Procedures
- Use picture cues.
a. teach children
b. report the news
c. grow flowers
d. write stories
- Ask students to look at the pictures and
identify the activities describing jobs in the
pictures.
- Play the recording for students to listen to and
repeat the words under the pictures in chorus
and individually until they feel confident.
- Model Picture a. Write stories students'
attention to the speech bubbles and elicit the
missing word by pointing at Picture a. Play the
recording for students to listen to and repeat the
sentences in both bubbles a few times.
- Repeat the same procedure with Pictures b, c,
and d. Then let students practise asking and
answering questions in pairs. Go around the
classroom to offer help if necessary.
- Invite a few pairs to act out the exchanges in
front of the class.
- Praise students if they practise well.
IV. PRODUCTION (8 minutes)
* Let's talk. (page 36)
+ Objectives: To help the students enhance the
correct use of sentences patterns to ask and
answer questions about the reasons why
someone would like to be a certain job in the
future in a freer context.
+ Procedures
- Picture cues: a group of characters doing
different jobs.
- Speech bubbles:
What would you like to be in the future? - ....
Why would you like to be a / an ...? - ....
- Write stories students' attention to the picture
in Activity 3. Ask questions to help them
identify the jobs that the characters do.
What can you see in the picture?
- Elicit the missing words in the speech bubbles
and write them on the board. Get students to say

Game: “Pass the balls”
- Tell students how the game is played. Give an
example.
- Give two different colored balls to two
students, a red ball (ask the question) and a
yellow ball (answer the question).
- Ask students to listen to music and pass the
balls.
- Stop music suddenly.
- Have the student with a red ball make a
question. Have the student with a yellow ball
answer the question.
e.g. Student A: What would you like to be in the
future?
Student B: I'd like to be a gardener.
Student A: Why would you like to be a
gardener?
Student B: Because I'd like to grow
flowers.
- Praise students if they play the game well.
