- Tell students that they are going to find pairs
of pictures and words as quickly as possible.
- Divide the class into two groups.
- Stick the picture cards face down in the row
above and the word cards face down in the row
below on the board.
- Invite one student from each group to play the
game by selecting a picture card and a word
card, turning them over. If two cards are a
matching pair, ask the student to say the word
aloud, he/ she gets a point for their group. The
student can continue to take another turn. If the
cards do not make a match, ask the student to
turn them face down again and invite another
student from the other group to take the next
turn.
- Let students play the game until all pairs have
been matched. Play the game several times if
there is enough time.
- The group with more points wins the game.
- Tell students what they will learn in this
lesson.
II. ACTIVITY 1 (10 minutes)

+ Objectives: To help the students listen to five

their answers.
- Repeat the same procedure for the rest of the

- Get students to swap books with a partner,
then check answers as a class. Write the correct
answers on the board.
- Play the recording for students to doublecheck their answers.

- Write the first gapped sentence on the board
(My name is ___.). Read the sentence as a class.
When you reach the gap, ask students to elicit
the necessary information (a student's name)
and write it down to complete the sentence.
- Repeat the same procedure for the second
sentence. Then ask students to read the writing
prompts and write the answers to complete the
passage. Encourage them to write about 30
words.
- If time allows, invite a few students to read
the sentences they have completed / written
