Lesson 1
I. Objectives:

+ Have Ss point to the letter er explain that the name of the letter er is different to
its sound
+Encourage Ss to repeat several times

- Procedure:

+Have pupils look at the picture and describe it. Draw pupils' attention to the letter er.
+Ask pupils to point to the letter er. Have them listen and repeat the sound of the er
+ Show the picture and elicit the answer of who the characters are.
+Tell pupils to point to the word sister. Ask them to listen and repeat the word brother,
sister and grandmother

+ Repeat the same procedure with the brother, grandmother.
. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task.

- Get ss to swap their books with a partner and check their
writing before checking as a class.

I want to visit Ha Long Bay for my holiday. It is very
beautiful and exciting. It is about two hundred kilometres
from my village. I can go there by coach. I can take a

Game:

Roll the dice

*Aims: to revise the vocabulary about some famous
places.
*Procedure:
- Divide the class into groups of six. Have each
student count the numbers from one to six.
- Ask a student from each group to roll the dice to

- Ss listen to the teacher

choose a pupil asking the question.
- Ask that student to ask the question and invite
another student of the group to answer the question.
- Say “Open your book page 66” and look at “Unit 20,
Lesson 2 (1,2,3)”.
2. Presentation (15')
Activity 1. Vocabulary.
*Aims: Ss will be able to know the vocabulary in the
new lesson.

Ex:

- Play the audio twice (sentence by sentence). Correct
their pronunciation where necessary.
