Lesson 1(1, 2, 3)
I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to:
Use the words and phrases related to the topic Introduction.
Greet other and introduce themselves, using Hello/Hi. I’m + (name).
1. Language contents:
- Sentence Patterns:Hello/ Hi. I’m + name.
- Vocabulary: hello, hi, I, am, nice to meet you.
2. Language skills:
- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills
3. Attitude:Ss must love subject English.
II. Preparations:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
III. Methods: Communicative approach, ask and answer (say individually),
work in pairs/ groups, discuss.

I. Warm up (5’)

- Greet the class by saying Hello.
- Repeat the procedure several times. Then introduce yourself to the class by pointing to yourself and say: I’m Miss/Mr+ (your name). Go around the class and say your name to different pupils.
- Draw pupils’ attention to the title of the unit and check their comprehension. Have them repeat it once or twice.
- Listen.
-Answer with Hello

-Respond with Hello. I’m + (his/her name).


- Repeat

II. New lesson (25’)

1. Look, listen and repeat:
- Tell Ss that they are going to practise introducing themselves and responding to the introduction.
- Elicit the answers of who the characters are. Explain what happens in the pictures
- Have pupils repeat the text in the bubbles
a few times.
- Play the recording for pupils to listen and say along.

- Ss listen.

- Ss look at the picture , listen and answer.

- Ss listen and repeat after the tape.

2. Point and say:
- Tell Ss that they are going topractise saying Hello/ Hi. I’m + (name) and responding to the greeting.
- Teach vocabulary:
Hello Hi
Am = ‘m Nice to meet you.
Note: Say Hello to the teacher or adults and Hi to the peers.
- Have them look at the pictures.
- Point at each character in the picture and elicit his/her name and the words to fill the graps.
-Write the whole sentences on the board:
Miss Hien: Hello, I’m________.
Nam: Hello, ________.
I’m __________.
- Ask Ss repeat the sentences a few times.
- Have Sspractise in pairs.
- Call a few pairs to speak in front of the class.
- Check their performance.

- Ss listen.



- Ss listen and take notes.



- Ss look at pictures.


- Ss listen and take notes.



- Ss listen and repeat.
-Ss work in pairs.
-Some pairs practice in front of the class. Other listen and check.

3. Let’s talk:
-Tell ps that they are going to practise more with their friends.
-Point to each character eliciting the name.
-Ask ps to guess what the children say.
-Fill the graps and write the sentences on the board.
- Get ps to repeat the sentences a few times.
- Get ps work in pair of three to interact.
- Call a few pairs practise in front of the class.
- Check ss’pronounciation

III. Consolidation: (4’)
- T summerizes the main points of the lesson .
