I. WARM UP (5 minutes)
* Game: “Ball circle”

+ Objectives: To help the students review
asking and answering about greetings and
names.
+ Procedures
- Tell students how the game is played. Give an
example.
- Divide the class into groups of 5-10. Ask each
group to sit in a circle. Give each group a ball.
- Have one student ask “What's your name?”
and throw the ball to another student who
answers. This student then asks, “How are
you?” and throws the ball to another student.
- Continue until every student has had a turn.
- Praise students if they do the activity well.
- Tell students what they will learn in this
lesson.

- Have students look at Pictures a and b and
identify the characters in the pictures by asking

recording for them to listen.
- Play the recording again, sentence by
sentence, for students to listen and repeat in
chorus and individually. Correct their
pronunciation where necessary.

A. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
I. Knowledge
- Listen to and understand four communicative contexts in relation to ask and answer
questions about someone and number the correct pictures.
- Complete four target sentence patterns in four dialogues with the help of picture cues.
- Recognize target words while looking at pictures of the characters and circle six names in a
letter table and use them to ask and answer questions.
II. Competences
- Self-control and independent learning: review the vocabulary and the sentence patterns
about someone.
- Communication and collaboration: work in pairs or groups review the vocabulary and the
sentence patterns about someone.
- Critical thinking and creativity: learn how to review the vocabulary and the sentence
patterns about someone correctly and fluently.
III. Attitude / Qualities
- Show their love with their teachers and friends.
- Be willing to help their friends.
IV. Language focus and skills
- Recycled sentence patterns:
 Is this (Bill)? - Yes, it is.
 Is that (Nam)? - No, it isn't. It's (Minh).

I. WARM UP (5 minutes)
* Game: “Pass the card”
Bill / Mai / Minh / Lucy / Ben
+Objectives: To help the students review the
vocabulary about the numbers.
+ Procedures
- Tell students how the game is played. Give an
example.
- Divide the class into two groups. Ask students
from each group stand in a line.
- Give the first student of each group a card and
say “Go.”
- Ask students to pass the cards over their heads
to the ones behind them.
- Have the last student in each line race to hand
their card to the teacher and ask and answer the
