UNIT 14: WONDERS OF THE WORLD
Lesson 1 LISTEN AND READ (p.p.131+132)
I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Sts will be able to seek information about a language game to complete a summary.
a. Grammar: 1. Question words before to - infinitives 2. Indirect questions with If and whether 3. Verb + to - infinitives
b. Vocabulary: Some words to talk about wonders of the world.
2. Skills: Listening - Reading
3. Attitude: Sts will try collect much more knowledge in order to be confident to communicate in their daily life.
II. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher:
- Prepare the lesson carefully: (teaching aids make lesson plan by power point, book, laptop, sound)
2. Students:
- Learn the previous lesson by heart.
- Prepare the new lesson at home: (write new words; read text; answer questions)
III. STEPS FOR TEACHING:
1. Check the previous lesson: (5’)
- Ask Sts to change into Passive voice, using Present simple tense
2. New lesson: (40’)

- Prepare some postcards or pictures of the famous world landmarks or scene spots in VN.
- Show the pictures, one by one, to Ss and ask them what place it is.
- Divide the class into 2 teams, the team able to answer the question will get 1 point.
- Give Ss some suggestions to help them easily recognize the place.
Eg: Mount Bach Ma.
Suggestions:
It is a place in the Central Vietnam with cold weather every day of the year...
•Getting started.
- Inform the topic: Wonders of the world.
- Have Ss look at the pictures on page 131 and do the matching.
- Check if they know where / in which country these wonders are.

- Set the scene:
"Nga, Nhi and Hoa are playing a language game called guessing game.
