I.Objectives
1. Knowledge
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
- Write complex sentences with different dependent clauses
- Use some common phrasal verbs correctly and appropriately

- Grammar: Complex sentences
- Skills: speakingand writing

- Ss use phrasal verbs and complex sentence correctly and effectively.

1. Activity 1 (5’)
Aims: Ss get the words using in Types of dependent clause
- Brainstorming:
- Each Ss give the using in Types of dependent clause and write it on the board. Others add more
- > Leads to the lesson
2. Activity 2 (’)
Aims: Ss get how to use Types of dependent clause and Phrasal verbs
2.1 Types of dependent clause
- (Inversions) Ss to read the information in the yellow box at home. Ask them to name the dependent clauses on the board.
- Elicit from Ss what they still remember about complex sentences. Ss make sentences with although, when, so that, and because. Give feedback and quickly write the sentences on the board. Underline the dependent clause with these subordinators.
- Ss explain each type ofdependent clause
And give example about it
- Share their idea with others
- T summaries the knowledge and give more examples to explain them clearly.
2.2 Phrasal verbs
- T explains the formation and the meaning of phrasal verb.
- T provides the examples in order that students can understand better.
- Ask Ss to read the sentences taken from the conversation in GETTING STARTED, paying attention to the two verb phrases. Have them answer the two questions orally as a class.
- Ss read the information in the yellow grammar box. Ask them to call out any phrasal verbs they know and write them on the board. Have them explain the meaning of these verbs.
3. Activity 3 (’)
3.1 Complex sentences
Aim: Ss can practice exercises using Types of dependent clause
- Ss read the requirement of ex 1 and explain how to do it.
- Asks them to confirm which sentences are
dependent clause of concession (DC), of purpose (DP), of reason (DR), of time (DT)
- Ss do this exercise individually. Elicit Ss` answers. Ask SS to explain for their answers
- Share their ideas
- Confirm the correct ones.
- Guides Ss to do exercises 2
Use the subordinator provided and make
a complex sentence from each pair of sentences
-Ss write the complex sentences individually and then compare them with a partner.
- Some Ss write it on the board -> Share their ideas
- Confirm the correct ones.
3.2. Phrasal verbs
Aim: Ss can practice exercises using Phrasal verbs
- Guides Ss to do exercises 4
- Ss do the ex in pairs
- Some Ss write it on the board -> Share their ideas
- Confirm the correct ones.
Activity 4. (5’)
Aim:Ss summary content and are guided to study at home
- Two Ss write their sentences on the board. Each student writes two or three sentences of.
- Ask other Ss to give feedback.
- Confirm the correct answers.
- T gives out the work and guides ss to prepare for the new lesson.

* Formation
