1. Introduction
- Teacher’s introduction.
- Students’introduction: Name, address( in Vietnamese).
2. Rules:
- Attitude in the classroom.: On time, don’t make noise during the class, pay attention to the lesson. learn and interact actively, take care of the classroom objects.
- Materials: Have enough student books , workbooks, pens, pencils, rulers …
3. Classroom commands
Stand up, sit down, go to the board, come back to your seat, be quiet, open your book, close your book…

2. Language focus:
-Vocabulary: Hi, hello,
- Sentence patterns: Hello.I’m Mai.

3.Resources: student book, workbook, puppets/ flashcards / photos ofpupils, CD
II. Procedure
* Warm up: Game “bingo”
- Write names of your friends.
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Ask the pupils to look at the picture at the top of page 6 and describle it.
Who is she? Who is he? Where are they?
- Use two character puppets to present the situation.

- Play the recording all the way through for Ps to listen.
- Listen and point.

- Practice in pairs( open pair, close pair)
* Sentence patterns
- Ask Ps to recognise the new sentence pattern from the dialogue
- Write them on the board.

2. Look and say
* Present vocabulary:
Hi ( mime): is very informal. Ps can use with friends but not with an adult.
Hello( mime): more formal than “hi”. It can be used with teachers and other adults.
- Use the photos of the pupils or flashcards to introduce the characters( Nam, Mai, Nga, Phong).
- Explain the requirement of this part as well as the sentence patterns

- Get feed back: Call on some pairs to perform in front of the class.

3. Talk
- Have Ps look at the pictures on p7 and ask them to identify the characters in the picture.
- Tell Ps what they are going to do.

- Let Ps practice in pairs . Then ask them to change their role.
- Call on some pairs to talk in front of the class.
- Let Ps have freetalk with their names.
- Call on some pairs to demonstrate at the front of the class.
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation
