Lesson 1: Getting started
Time: 1 period
I. Objectives.
1. Knowledge:- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use the lexical items related to television.
2.Skills:- Self–educated, being creative, self management, communicating, cooperating with their friends.
3. Attitude:  - Raise ss’ love to study this subject.
II. Teaching aids & Preparation
-  Textbook, workbook, computer, projectors, CD……
III. Teaching Procedure

Contents

1. Activity 1: Warm up
a.Aim: introduce the new topic
b. Content: T writes the word “ Television” on board and asks Ss to give any ideas/ vocabulary they know relating to the topics.
c. Product: Student’ answer .
d. Progress: T asks and Ss answer
- T gives feedbacks and comments

I can watch many cartoons on it.
It helps to cheer me up…


2. Activity 2: Presentation
a. Aim: Lead to the lesson .
b. Content: - The vocabularies.
- Set the scence: What are you expecting to hear?
c. Product: Student’s understanding
d. Progress:- Ss know how to read new words, identify their meanings, use them to make sentences and know what they are going to listen.
- Help Ss can use adjectives to describe the programme

Have Ss listen to the dialogue
Ss work independently
Allow them to share their answers with their partners before discussing as a class

cool (adj) đáng yêu
stupid(adj) ngốc nghếch
schedule (n): chương trình, lịch trình
local(adj); thuộc địa phương
national(adj) thuộc quốc gia

awful (adj) khủng khiếp


3. Activity 3: Practice
a. Aim: help Ss to understand to do the tasks.
b. Content: - The exercises related to the lesson.
- This task focuses on the use of adjs to describe the programme.
c. Product: Student’s understanding
d. Progress: - Let Ss look for the adjs from the conversation.
- Supplement the list of adjectives with words drawn from Ss experiences.
- Requires Ss to recall a programme they’re watched and comment on it by using an adj.










Ex2: Ask Ss to do the matching
- Go round and check if they match the pictures and the words correctly.
- Show Ss how to pronounce each word by saying it and ask Ss to repeat.

1. Listen and read

a.Read the conversation again and answer the questions.

b. Find the adjectives describing each character in the conversation and write them here.

Possible answers:
Yes: popular, historical, serious, long, educational, boring, funny, good, entertaining, live.
No: beautiful, small
2. Ex2: Put the correct word in the box under each picture.

animal programme

4. Activity 4: Production
a. Aim: help Ss to understand to practice
b. Content: - The exercises related to the lesson.
- This task focuses on the use of adjs to describe the programme.
c. Product:Student’s understanding.
d. Progress: - Ss have to read the sentences carefully and decide which word is the right one.
- T can guide them to some clues like “ It makes me laugh” “ Disney…


Ex3: Use suitable words to complete the sentences.

- Learn new words by heart
Ex4:Write down two things you like about television and two things you don’t like about it.
