I > AIMS Students will learn about an interesting topic “ The media”.
By activities are designed , sts will understand clearly about the modern media mentioned in
the lesson such as newspaper, television, magazines, interactive TV.

_ Teacher introduces the lesson : “ Nowsaday media has become very popular in our life . In unit 5 , we’ll learn about this interesting topic . First, you work in pairs , ask and answer the questions about your favorite activities mentioned in Getting started.
+ Students listen and practice in pairs.
_ Teacher consolidates the activities.
_ Teacher leads sts to the lesson by asking sts some questions.
_ Teacher introduces to sts some new words by some techniques.
+Sts guess the meaning of these words.
_ Teacher guide sts to read these words.
_ Teacher calls sts to read these words.
+ Sts read these words in chorally.
_ Teacher corrects sts’ mistakes in pronunciation.
_ Teacher uses technique “ Rub out and Remember “ to check sts’ vocabs.
_ Teacher rubs out a word in English and points to Vietnamese translation and asks “ What’s this in English?”. When all the English words are rubbed out , go through the Vietnamese list and gets the sts to come to the board and write the English words again.
_ Teacher plays the tape 2 times.
+ Students listen to the tape.
_ Teacher guides sts “ Now you read the passage again and complete the table. Fill in the passage letters in which the facts and events mentioned.
+ Sts do exercise.
_ Teacher asks sts to compare the answer with partners.
