Lesson 1: Getting started
I. The aims and objectives
- Knowledge:
+ Vocabulary: T provides Sts with words related to personality: Creative, confident, talkative , clever, shy, funny, glasses, grandma, grandpa, come over
Grammar: + structure to describe personality, picture.
- Skill : Listening and speaking.
- Living skill: Sts can talk about someone`s character.
By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to know how to make and response to a requests. Students can talk about personality.
II. Teaching aids:
T: Textbook, lesson plan, CD player.
St: Textbook, sts` book.
III. Procedures:
1. Organization (1’): Good morning./ How are you?/ Who’s absent today?
2. Checking up ( 3’): Finish these sentences:
a. There/ be / a ruler/ box.
b. There/ 2 pictures/ the wall.
c. The dog/ next to the fridge.
-> T gives comments and introduces the new lesson.

II. The text
Task 1.
- T explains the meaning of “surprise” and asks sts to look at the picture on page 48 and guess what the picture might show or what the conversation might be

Asks sts to look at the dialogue and listen to the conversation then check their answer

Asks to read the dialogue again and do part A-50

- Asks sts to read the dialogue again to find the phrases . Practice saying them together

A: Can you pass the biscuits for me please?
B: Yes, sure
*Making and respond to a suggestion
A: Would you like to sit down?
B: Oh, sorry, I can’t
* Practice: word cues drill
