I. Objectives
1. Knowledge, Skills, Attitude:
- By the end of the lesson, Ss persuade someone to do something.
+ Vocabulary: Related to “learning a foreign language”.
+ Grammar: Suggestions, advice.
- Speaking, reading, less writing and listening.
- Ss will be educated about how to persuade others.
2. Capacity can be formed and developed for students
- Self-learning capability.
- Cooperation capacity
- Communicative competence

1. Warm-up (5’)

- T asks, Ss answer the questions.
- Have you ever persuaded someone to do something ?
2. Knowledge formation activities (36’)
- T explains the requirement.
- Ss pay attention to teacher’s explanation.
- T introduces and explains some expressions.
- Ss pay attention to teacher’s explanation.
- T reads the information in the table, introduces and explains new words.
- Ss pay attention to teacher’s explanation and practice reading new words.
- T calls some Ss to read new words loudly in order to check and correct their pronunciation.
- T call three students to read the example.
- Ss practice in groups of three : persuade their partners.
- T calls some groups to talk before the class.
- T checks and corrects any mistakes if necessary.
3. Speak:
* Ss use the words given to make the dialogues
*Pre-speaking
Work in groups. You are Thu, Tam and Kim, and you are awarded a scholarship of US$2,000 to attended an English summer course aboard. Try to persuade your partner to attend the school you would like to go to. The expressions in the box may help you.
