Period 1: Revision and testing.
I- The aims of the lesson: To help ss revise some old knowledge that they have learnt in English 8.
* Vocabulary : Some adjectives and adverbs.
* Grammar : Adjectives, Adverbs, Tenses, reported speech and passive voice.
* Skills: - Main skill: Speaking.
- Other skills: Reading, listening & writing.
II- The objective of the lesson:
- By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to know some old knowledge that they have learnt, they will be able to speak, and write. Educate Ss to love English and want to improve it
III- Teaching aids: Posters, cards.
IV- Procedures:
1. Warm up (7’): Pelmanism:

* Adjective or Adverb ? < Use the poster > Underline the correct answer:
- Ss work in groups and write their answers on the poster.
- Hang on their posters for correction ( Give the answer key.
1. Your children played happy / happily.
2. She sings very good / well.
3. How are you ? Very good / well. Thank you.
4. I just want a quick / quickly snack, please.
5. I had breakfast quick / quickly because I was late for work.
6. You are speaking very quiet / quietly. I can’t hear you.
7. He is very slow / slowly readers.
- Ss work in groups and write their answers on the poster.
- Hang on their posters for correction ( Give the answer key.
* Answer key:
1. happily. 4. quick. 7. slow.
2. well. 5. quickly.
3. well 6.quietly.
* Notice: - Adjectives are used modify for Nouns.
- Adverbs are used to modify for: -Verbs. - Adjectives. - Adverbs.
2. Revision1 (7’) Tenses:
- How many tenses have you studied? What are they?
progressive; future simple, near future.>
- Remind ss of the uses and forms of these tenses.
- Give some examples.
3. Revision2 (7’) Reported speech:
- Asks ss how to use and change.
- Notice ss to some changes: tense back, subjects, objects, adverbs...
Eg: “ I am a plumber.” Mr Nam said.
-> Mr Nam said he was a plumber.
4. Revision3 (7’) Passive voice:
- Remind ss of the way to change an active sentence to a passive one.
- Have ss write the forms on the board.
Cách chuyển từ chủ động sang bị động :
Active : S + V + O
Passive : S + be PII… by O
- O trong câu chủ động ( S trong câu bị động.
- V trong câu chủ động ( be PII trong câu bị động.
- Thì câu chủ động = Thì câu bị động ( biểu đạt qua hình thức của TO BE )
- S câu chủ động chung chung (they, people, she, ...) ( câu bị động
không cần “by O”
- S câu chủ động đặc biệt: tên riêng, địa danh hoặc là tác nhân cần đợc đề
cập đến ( cần “ by O” .
Eg: 1. I learn English everyday. => English is learnt by me everyday. (Passive)
2.My mother wrote that letter. => That letter was written by my mother.
3.He is asking me a lot of questions. => I am being asked a lot of
questions.
5. Test (15’)
A. Give the correct verb form in brackets:
1. What you ( Do ) last weekend ? - I ( go ) to the theater with my family.
2. John and I ( be ) penpals for nearly three years.
3. We used ( write ) to each other very month when we ( be ) at secondary
school.
4. Minh ( know ) a little English so she wishes she could < speak ) it fluently.
