PERIOD 49: GETTING STARTED – LISTEN ( READ

I. OBJECTIVES
- Sts can know more about some popular celebrations in the world.
- Developing sts` listening and reading skills.
- Developing sts` love for country and the pride of traditional festivals in VN.

II- LANGUAGE CONTENTS:
1. Grammar: S.present tense; Relative clause with WHICH and WHO
2. Vocabulary: words relating to celebrations

III- METHOD AND TEACHING AIDS:
1. Method: Audio-lingual method, communicative approach
2. Teaching aids: tape and cassette, textbook, pictures, …

IV- TEACHING PROCEDURES:
1/Warm up: (brainstorming)
Let sts think of the names of the celebrations all over the world they know

Model:
Tet is the most important celebration in VN. It is in late January or early February. On this occasion, people clean and decorate their homes, they wear new clothes and family members enjoy together special food such as sticky rice cake. Everyone in VN feel happy on Tet holiday.

5/ Homework:
Ask sts to write about one celebration that they like best.
