lesson 1: a. Sports( a1,2). p.129, 130.
I. Aims:
- To help ss read for comprehension and sports vocabulary.
- To develop ss’skills.
II. Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to understand the reading and do all the task.
III. Ways of working; T - WC, individual work.
IV. Materials: Text book, pictures, tape.
V. Anticipated problems: The lesson may take time.
VI. Teaching steps:
1. Organization: (1 minute)- Greet and check the ss’attendance.
2. Revision: (4 minutes) - T. asks some questions to lead in new lesson:
+ What are the favorite sports?
+ When do you play sports?
+ Make a list of the sports which you play in your free time?
( Playing sports is one of the most popular freetime activities around the world. In this lesson and in the following ones we will learn about this topic.)

b) Table tennis is the 11th

(10 minutes)
* Take a class survey:
- Ss ask their classmates what sport they like most. Write the number of Ss who like each sport best. Then add altogether to see which sport is the most popular in the class.
The survey question is:
" Which sport do you like best?"
* Survey:
Eg: S1: Which sport do you like best?
S2: I like baminton best.
S3: Which sport do you like best?
S4: I like………………………
4. Summary: (3 minutes)
- Repeat: names of sports in the USA and in Vietnam
5. Homework: (1 minute)
- Learn by heart the new words.
- Read A1. P.129. A4. P.132 again.
- Prepare: A3, A5. P.131 - 133 (text book)
