UNIT 12 : VACATION ABROAD.
LESSON 1 : Getting started + Listen and Read
I. Aims and Objectives:
- Language content:
+ To introduce some words and phrases relating to vacation.
+ To help students read for details about making plans for a vacation abroad
+ To enable the students to use the progressive tense with “always”and the structure “would like”
Language function:
+ By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to be aware of how to make accept and decline invitations
+ To help the students practise completing the schedule and answering the questions according to the dialogue.
Educational aim:
+ To make students aware of the countries all over the world.
+ To make them know how to make accept and decline invitations.
1.Language:
a. Vocabulary: include (v), come over (v), pick someone up (v), tour (n) business meeting (n)
b. Structures: Would you like + to infinitive?
S + be + always + Ving( use the present progress tense to express a complaint and an unpleasant action
2. Skills: Integrated skills
3. Education factor:
To educate the students to make friends with people all over the world
II. Teacher’s and Students’ preparation:
1. Method: Communicative approach
2. Techniques:explanation, repetition, substitution, translation, chatting, mime, games, real action or things, pairworks, group works, questions and answers, matching, T/F statements.
3. Materials needed: Textbook, cassettle player, sub board, pictures.
4. Students’ preparation: textbook and new lesson: getting started + listen and read.
5. Previous Exercises: no exercise
III. Procedure in class:
Stabilization: (1’) a. Warm up : Greeting the students and asks about their health
b. Checking absence: Who is absent today?

1. Lead-in:
a/ Sets the situation:
Has the sts play the game “matching”
- Divides the class into two groups: group A and group B.
Shows some pictures in the textbook on page 111 and some name of the countries. Then asks the sts to match which country it is in pairs.
Then has the sts tell their partners which country they would like to visit and why
A: Which country do you want to visit?
B: I’d like to visit Thailand.
A: Why?
B: Because Thailand has a lot of beautiful old pagodas.
Calls on some pairs to ask and answer.
Asks the sts to answer
