I.Objectives
1. Knowledge
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
- listen for specific information about school life in the past.
- write a description of how children in the past studied without technology
- Gifted ss can write a passage about 140–160 words about how children in the past studied without technology
*Content:
- Vocabulary: related to the topic
- Grammar:used to + V; Wish for the present
- Skills: listening and writing

-Linguistic competence, cooperative learning and communicative competence.

- Ss preserve the past and love their life.

Activity 1 (5’)
Aim:To attract Ss’ attention to the lesson and to lead in the new lesson.
- T asks Ss to look at the picture on P.47 and answer the question.
-Ss answer the questions
Activity 2 (15’)
Aim: To review used to and wish

- Ask Ss to complete the second sentences.
- Call some ss to write the answer on the board.
- Ss give remarks.

- T checks the answers as a class.

Activity 3 (20’)
- Ss may work in groups of three or four. Together they make a list of the facilities they are using for their studies. They then tick the ones they think were not available about twenty years ago.


- T may have the groups write their lists on board. Leave the list there for 4.


- Ss say about Students/Learners twenty years ago never knew about the amazing benefits of these things.


- Sswork individually, referring to the framework while they are writing. If time allows, T can ask some Ss toshare their writing with the class.
- Gifted ss can write a passage about 140–160 words about how children in the past studied without technology.







Activity 3 (4’)
- Ss remind the main points in the lesson.

- T gives out the work and guides ss to prepare for the new lesson.

Ex4. Choose one facility which was not availabletwenty years ago and write a short descriptionof how students in the past studied withoutthat facility.
In your writing, you should include:
- what facility it is
- what it is used for
- how students did the job in the past when theydidn’t have it
- how you feel about the change
Eg:
It is most likely that students twenty years ago were not able to enjoy the Internet in their studies.That’s why it took them a lot of time, energy, and even money, to do a project that we can now easilycomplete in one or two days.For example, when being asked to write an assignment about past habits, the students had to go to thelibrary, look for books on the topic, read the books, and hand-write any information that they thought wasuseful for their assignment. They would also have to meet with some old people and talk to them aboutthe past. At home, they had to hand-write their assignment, possibly with a lot of erasing and rewriting of the first draft. After finishing the draft, they had to write a clean copy on another piece of paper for submission.
