Period 57th : Unit 9: In My Class
Lesson 3: part 1 – 2
I.Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson pupil will be able to give some specific permission.
II. Language focus:
*Sentences pattern:
May I ____________?
Yes, you can.
No, you can’t.
* Vocabularies: Review: come in, sit down, go out, stand up, close the book, open the book.
III. Teaching aids: book, radio, pictures, cards, video clip.
IV. Anticipated problems: some pupils may have difficult in speaking and listening.

Warm – up:
- Greeting.
- Check old lesson.
+ Teacher asks pupils: What did you learn in the last period?
+Teacher pastes 2 pictures on the board. Call 2 pupils to go on the board and write the words which talk about the pictures.
+ Under the class,teacher do actions and pupils speak the words for other actions.
Calls some pupils to comment.
Teacher remarks and give mark.
New lesson:
* Presentation:
- sit down, stand up, open the book, close the book…..words are the commands of older people to younger people or the same ages.
- Everyday,when you want to come in the class:
+ How do you talk?

Pupil’s activities

1. Listen and repeat.
When I request a pupil to ccome in the class I use the command: “come in”
- T asks in Viet Namese: What does a pupil in the picture talk to the teacher when he want to come in the class?
+ Plays the tape sometimes for pupils to listen as they read the lines in the speech bubbles.
+ Plays the tape again for pupil to repeat each line in the speech bubbles a few times.
+ Tells pupils to role: 1line is a teacher, 1line is apupil. Play the tape sometimes and tell pupil to change the role.
+ Calls a good pupil to do sample in pair with teacher .
+ Then tells the class practising in pairs.
* Checks some pairs.
* Practice:

- Teacher asks:
+What does the pupil in the picture ask for teacher’s permission?
* Teacher writes sentence on the board:
May I come in ? Yes, you can.
No, you can’t.
- Teacher tells:
+ When I request a pupil to come in, I use command sentences “ come in”.
+ When I ask for a permission, I use “ May I come in?”
=> What are the different beetwen command sentence and permission sentence?.
- Teacher asks: In “ May I come in?” sentences:
Do we substitute “ come in” for another command?
+ Teacher uses another command to change in the model sentense.
* Write on the board:
Form: May I………….?
Yes,………. .
No,………... .
- Tells pupils to look at the picture a, b, c and d on screen ( in the book page 64).
- Tells pupil to discuss in groups and give the answer the pictures b, c and d with guide questions:
+ What does a pupil in each picture ask for teacher’s permission?
+ Does the teacher agree or disagree?
=> Teacher remark: picture a, b, c, d
- Tell pupils to practice in pairs with 4 pictures. (3 minutes)
- Then tell pupil to work in pairs.
- Teacher checks some pairs and calls another pupil to comment.
- Teacher gives 2video clips in the fact to pupil practice.
* Production:
-Tells pupils to do Exercise in page 37 – part C.
- Checks the exercise through the game: “ Tiếp sức”
- Teacher gives the rules of the game .
* Teacher remarks and give the gift.
* Consolidate:
- Teacher asks:
+ What are we learnt about question?
+ What do we use ?
- Teacher tells: In the fact, when you want to do somethings,you have to ask older’s permission.
