GETTING STARTED & LISTEN AND READ
I. Objectives
- By the end of the lesson, Ss know about traditional festivals in Viet Nam.
1. Knowledge, Skills, Attitude:
a. Knowledge:
- Vocabulary: Related to “Festivals”
- Grammar: compound words.
b. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing
c. Attitude: Ss will be educated about traditional festivals.
2. Capacity is formed and developed for students
- Self-learning capability.
- Communicative competence
- Cooperation capacity
II. Preparation
1. Teacher: lesson plan, book, color chalks, pictures, MP3
2. Students: books, notebooks, pen, ruler …

1. Warm up (5’)

- T sticks some pictures on the board and has Ss to look at the pictures and answer the question.

- T leads in the new lesson.
- T has Ss work in pairs. (Ask and answer about where these people should go on their visits to Viet Nam.
- T calls one S to make example.
- Ss work in pairs.
- T calls some pairs to talk before the class.
- T checks and corrects any mistakes if necessary.
I. Getting started.
Work with a partner. Where should these people go on their visits to Viet Nam? Why?
* Ss will introduce some places in VN to others.
Ex 1:
T: Tom likes swimming and sunbathing.
- Where should he go?
S: He should go to Vung Tau or Nha Trang.
T: Why?
S: Because there are beautiful beaches in Vung Tau and Nha Trang.
Possible answers :
2/ David should go to Hue.
3/ Huckleberry should go to Sapa.
4/ Oliver should go to Bat Trang, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan provinces.
5/ Robinson should go to Ho Chi Minh city or Ha Noi.

 - Passive form: The fire is made in traditional way.

- T has Ss practice the dialogue with a partner.
-Ss work in pairs: play the roles of Liz and Ba.
- T calls some pairs to talk before the class.
- T checks and corrects Ss’ pronunciation if necessary.
