I. Objectives
1. Knowledge, Skills, Attitude:
a. Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, students will able to listen for specific details including facts and figures; write a holiday postcard.
- Vocabulary: The lexical items related to the topic “Cities of the world”.
- Grammar: Exclamation sentence.
b. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
c. Attitude: Students are interested in the cities, the countries and the continents in the world.
2. Capacity is formed and developed for students
- Self – learning capability
- Communicative competence
II. Preparation
1. Teacher: text book, extra board, cassette tape and real objects.
2. Students: textbook, notebook, workbook.

T: Divides the class into 2 teams.
T names some countries, Ss tell what the cities are.
- The team which has more correct answers and fast, will be a winner.
Ss: Give their answers.
Name the capital city
(USA, England, Scotland, France, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Japan, Korea, Russia, Cambodia ...)
T: Has Ss look at the pictures and elicits these words from the Ss: Royal Palace, Nobel Prize, Museum, Cafe’, Restaurants, Shop, Island. Then asks them more about Nobel and Nobel prize.
Ss: Answer (They can talk about this in Vietnamese if they do not have enough vocabulary)
T: Tells Ss they will listen about the old town in Stockholm and how Nobel prize are awarded every year there.
Listening
1. Look at the pictures. What you can see?

T: Before listening to the recording, go through the statements with Ss.
- Asks Ss to read the sentences to underline the most important information and try to remember. Explains any new words.
- Explain the task 2P.32
- Plays the recoring twice or three times.
Asks Ss to listen for the main ideas they hear. Then try to tick True or False statements.
Ss: Work individually.
T: Calls on some Ss to check – Other Ss comment.
Ss: Give their answers before the class.
T: Asks Ss to listen to the passages carefully again and correct the False statements
- Gets feedback.
2. Listen and write True (T) or False (F).
