UNIT 8: COUNTRY LIFE AND CITY LIFE
SPEAK & LISTEN
I. Objectives
- By the end of the lesson, Ss practice speaking about the changes of a place, listen to complete the blanks with right words concerned with the plans in the future.

b. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing
c. Attitude: Ss will be educated about helpful activities for our country.

1. Teacher: lesson plan, book, color chalks, pictures, MP3
2. Students: books, notebooks, pen, ruler …
III. Students’ activities
1. Warm up (5’) Matching

- T asks Ss to find 7 adjectives
- T divides the class into 2 teams
- T asks Ss to go to the board and circle the word they find
- The team which circles more words will win the game
- T corrects and gives marks if necessary.

- T has one Ss to describe picture A, another one B.
- T can write some descriptions on the board. S.A: The traffic was quiet.
S.B: The traffic is getting busier.
S.A: The houses were small.
S.B: The houses are getting more modern.
-Ss: Pair work: Speak about the changes. of the town, following the pictures.
- T goes around and observes, makes any correction if necessary.
III. SPEAK
* Ss know the difference between the past and now.

1. Work with a partner. Look at the two pictures and talk about the changes of the town. The word prompts in the box may help you.

- T asks students to work in groups and talk about changes in their hometown/ neighborhood.
- T calls on volunteer from each group to show their ideas before the class. Other groups can add in their ideas.

- The streets are becoming cleaner/ large/ noisier.
- Goods are getting more expensive.
- T asks Ss to look at the pictures and then introduces the conversation between Lan and her aunt, Hang.

- T says: Listen to the tape again (3rd time) and check the answers in pairs.
