correct use of sentences patterns to ask and
answer questions about timetables in a freer
context.
+ Procedures
- Picture cue: a boy and girl talking about a
timetable
- Speech bubbles: When do you have ...? - ....
- Draw students' attention to the picture in
Activity 3. Ask questions to help them identify
the characters, school subjects and the days of
the week.
What can you see in the picture?
- Elicit the missing words in the speech bubbles
and write them on the board. Get students to
say the completed sentences.
- Put students in groups of four to ask and
answer about timetables. Go around the
classroom to offer support where necessary.
- Invite some pairs to practise asking and
answering questions about timetables in front
of the class and correct their pronunciation
where necessary.
- Give encouragement to the students'
performance.
* FUN CORNER AND WRAP-UP (5
minutes)
Game: “Magic wheel”
- Tell students how the game is played. Give an
example.
- Divide the class into 2 groups.
- Ask two students from each group to take turn
choosing a number. Let students to look at the
picture, then a pair of students ask and answer
questions about school subjects and timetables.
e.g. Student A: What subjects do you have
today?
Student B: I have English and Vietnamese.
