1>Warm up
- Ask pupils to display their homelink work for their classmates to read. Then they ask and answer questions about the information on the lists, using their learnt language.
2>New lesson
1. LISTEN AND REPEAT.
- Have pupils open their books on Page .
- Stick the large-sized-sheet of paper with this section written on it on the board. Draw pupils’ attention to the sounds of the letters ou as in count and that of the letters ow as in how.
- Get pupils to listen and repeat these words a few times.
2. Listen and read together.
- Draw pupils’ attention to the pictures. Ask pupils to read the lines on the .
- Get them to guess what the are about.
- Read the , pausing at times to check pupils’ comprehension.
- Teach the key words: count down, downtown, tower, towel.
- Write the words on the board and ask pupils to repeat each item a few times.
- Play the recording twice: once for pupils to listen all the way through and once for them to clap the words in focus.
3. Group and say aloud:
- Ask pupils to look at chart and the word box. Check if they understand the activity and the meaning of the words in focus.
- Recall the meaning of the words. Get pupils to repeat each word a few times. Do the first example with the class.
- Set time and let pupils do the task independently.
- Call on some pupils to report their answers to the class.
- Have the whole class read in chorus all the verbs in each column.




4. Listen and complete:
- Have pupils open their book on page and tell them the listening purpose.
- Play the recording for pupils to listen all the way through.
- Play the recording again for pupils do the task.
- Replay the recording for pupils to check their answers.
- Call on a few pupils to report their answers to the class.
- Read out the correct answers to the class.




3>Homelink:
- Ask pupils to do crossword puzzle on page 79 then make sentences with the words from the crossword puzzle to in their classroom in the next lesson.

- Pupils display their homelink work for their classmates to read. Then they ask and answer questions about the information on the lists, using their learnt language.
