Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about past experiences and how they affected their life.

Methods:
Integrated, mainly communicative approach
Techniques: pair work, question and answer, word guessing, role play, substitution drill.

Warm up:(5’)
To motivate ss before starting the new lesson. WORD GUESSING
T says:
This word has 10 letters, begins and ends at “E”
It’s used to describe the knowledge, skills you collected in the past.
Ss: Whole class guess

What experience makes you never forget ?
How/ When did it happen?
How about this girl/ student ?
Pre-speaking:(15’)
To pre-teach structure and help ss know the context
T: sets up the scene:
This girl is retelling her friend about her past experience. One day, This girl was walking along Trang Tien street, she met a native speaker from England, she needed a favor from this girl student
Task 1:Read and order the conversation between 2 these girl students(pairs)
Ss: work in pairs
T: gets feedback.
Task 2:Practice the dialogue
T: asks ss to practice the dialogue
Ss: practice in pairs (role play)
T: Questions : So, When you tell your friend about your past experience, you must mention what

Ss: work in pairs, use the structures and the ideas in task 1 page 25.(substitution drill)
Note: using the simple past tense
Example:
A: Have you ever been seriously ill ?
B: Oh! Of course. I had a terrible fever.
A: When did it happen?
B: Two months ago.
A: How did it happen?
B:I got wet on the way home.
A: How did the experience affect you?
B: I must go to the doctor and lie in bed for two days.
Post- speaking:(10’)
To check ss’s practice and pronunciation
T: asks some pairs to present in front of the class and checks their pronunciation.
Ss: Present in front of the class (pairs)
Consolidation:(4’)
To consolidate the lesson
T: asks ss to reuse the structures and practice freely
