Unit 6: WHERE’S YOUR SCHOOL?
Lesson 1
I. Objectives: After the lesson Ss will be able to:
- Asking and aswering questions about where a school is.
- Develop: Speaking, listening skills.
- Ss look after , solve problems and study themselves.
- Studious and obedient students and love their friends.
II. Language focus:
- Vocabulary: street, village, class, grade, address
- Sentence patterns: - Where is your school? - It’ s in +(place).
III. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher: textbook, cassette, tape.
2. Students: Books, pens

Warm up
* Have Ss play the game:
Physical line – up.
- Ask Ss to write the sentences on the board.
- Check and decide the winner.
- Call some Ss to read aloud all the sentences.
1. Look , listen and repeat
- Have Ss look at the picture and identify the characters and what they are doing.
- Introduce the dialogue
- Teach the new words:
street, village, study, address, road, grade
- Play the CD twice for the Ss.
- Present the way to ask questions about where a school is.
- Have Ss read the dialogue.
- Check some groups.
2. Point and say
- Have Ss look at the picture and identify the school name and its address.
- Give the meaning of new words.
- Sentence pattern:
Where is your school?
It’ s in …………. Street.
- Do the task with a student and then
have Ss work in pair, ask and answer where a school is.
- Check Ss
3. Listen and tick.
- Have Ss look at the pictures (p41) to identify the school name and its address.
- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen
- Play the recording again.
- T gives the answers: 1b; 2a; 3c
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.
4. Look and write
- Have pupils look at the sentences and the pictuces (p41).
- Guide Ss to complete the exercise.
- Call on some Ss to report the answers .
- Have Ss read aloud the sentences they have written.
- Check and correct.
5.Let’s sing
- ask Ss to listen the song “This is the way”
- The whole class sing the song “This is the way”
- call on 2 Ss singing
