Lesson 3 : B1- 3 - In the city




I . AIMS:
_ By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to understand the text about Minh, their house and their neighborhood. 
II . LANGUAGE CONTENTS:
1. Grammar: Where does he live? He lives in the country
Where does he work? He works in the school
There is a/ an with “in/on/next to”
2. Vocabulary:
(n)store, hospital, factory, museum, stadium, restaurant, bookstore, temple, next to work
III. TECHNIQUES: Kim`s game , Rub out and remember,

V. PROCEDURES:
TEACHER’S and Ss’ACTIVITIES
CONTENT

_ Greeting
_ Checking attendance
- Ss are guided to play Kim’s game

- T uses a picture to introduce the text:
“ Look at the picture, this is Minh, this is his house. Where does Minh live? Does Minh live in the country or in the city?(In the city)
What are there near his house?”
- Ss answer freely


- T pre-teaches vocabularies by using pictures.
Step1: Listening
T askes “ What is it?”
- Ss look at the picture and answer (English or Vietnamese)
- T says: “ It’s a store . a store( 3 times)
- Ss listen
Step 2: Speaking
- T askes Ss to repeat the word chorally (3times)
Step 3: Reading
- T writes the word on the board. While writing the words on the board, T asks Ss to repeat the word individually.
Step 4: Writing
- Ss copy the word into their note books
Step 5: Meaning
- T askes: “what does the word (store) mean?”
- Ss answer
Step 6: Stress
T guides Ss to recognize the stress of words
Step 7: Checking
- Ss are guided to do Rub out and remember
- T does the same with other words

T uses pictures to present the model sentences.
- Ss follow and take note the model sentences



T explains the way to do true/ false exercise and guides Ss to guess the statements.
- Ss look at the sentences on page 66 and guess whether they are true or false before listening to the tape



- T plays the tape twice
- Ss listen carefully and check their guessing.
Then Ss read the text and correct their guessing
- T gives key Ss correct themselves
- T asks Ss to correct the false sentences.
- Ss do as T asks

Ss read the text again to complete the sentences.
- Ss write the answers on the board.
- T helps them to correct their work





- T presents part B3 and asks Ss practice reading the words aloud, then T guides Ss how to do this part.
- T ask Ss to guess the words which they will hear from the tape
- T plays the tape three times: 1st time: Ss hear each word and mark in their books. 2nd time: Ss check their guessing with the answers from the tape 3rd time: Ss listen to check and correct their answers again.
- Ss give the answers on the board. T helps them correct


- T asks Ss to make sentences with “ there is and there are.........”
Ss work individually
Some Ss give the answers in front of class.
- T corrects Ss’mistakes.
- T gives marks.

- T gives some pictures, Ss look at them and talk about themselves





- T guides Ss to do the homework
- Ss take note
