UNIT 2 : PERSONAL INFORMATION.
A. TELEPHONE NUMBERS.( A1 , A2 ,A3)
Objectives
- Identifying numbers in the telephone directory.
- Asking for and giving telephone number .
- Developing reading , listening and speaking skills.
Teaching aids
Pictures , cassette recorder and tape , a page of telephone directory , colored chalk .
Procedures :
1 . Class organization:
Greetings
Checking attendance
2 . Review of the previous lesson :
Questions and answers about distances , using How far . . . ? ( on cards )

* Presentation
Setting up the scene : We have heard the numbers . Now we use them to talk about the telephone numbers .
- Presenting vocabulary :
- Task 1 : questions and answers
Now read the page silently ( silent reading ) and tell me how many telephone numbers there are on the page.
* Practice
- Teacher suggests how to read the telephone numbers
- Task 2 : Students read questions a-f and say them .
- Ask students to listen to the tape and write the 6 telephone numbers.
- T has Students compare their answers in pairs.
- Playing the cassette.
- Teacher gives correct answers on the board:
- Questions and answers:
Do you often talk with anyone on the phone?
Do you know the question asking for telephone numbers?
Do you know how to give the telephone number to others?
- Pointing to the picture, setting up the scene : This is Lan , and this is Hoa. Listen to the dialog. between Lan and Hoa.
- T has Students listen to the tape again and repeat the dialogue after the tape (repetition) (class spit into half playing the roles of Hoa and Lan)
- Asking students to copy the table into notebooks and work in pairs to complete the table.
- Students find out the answers while reading silently .
- Students practice reading the telephone numbers in pairs (one reads the 6names, one reads the 6 telephone numbers) (scanning)
- Students listen to the tape and write the 6 telephone numbers
- Students give their answers
- Listen.
- Repeat the dialogue after the tape
- Work in pairs to complete the table.
- Some pairs perform before the class.
