Lesson 1: Getting started
I. The aims and objectives
- Knowledge:
+ Vocabulary: T provides Sts with words related to the topic " talking about the different places and show the directions": statue, square, cathedral, memorial, temple, palace.
Grammar: + how to show the directions.
- Skill : Listening and speaking.
- Living skill: Sts can talk about different places and show the directions.
- Attitude: By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to know how talk about different places and show the directions
II. Teaching aids:
T: Textbook, lesson plan, CD player.
St: Textbook, sts` book.
III. Procedures
1. Organization (1’): Good morning./ How are you?/ Who’s absent today?
2. Checking up ( 3’): Interview:
Do you like travelling? Where did you go?
Is it nice?/ beautiful?
Did you visit Hanoi? Which places did you visit?
-> T gives comments and introduces the new lesson.

II. The dialogue:
Task 1.
- T asks sts to look at the picture on page 38 and guess what the picture might show or what the conversation might be.

Asks sts to look at the dialogue and listen to the conversation then check their answer

Asks to read the dialogue again and do part a-P39

- Asks sts to read the dialogue again to put the actions in order . Practice saying them together
*Making suggestions
Ask sts to read the dialogue again to put the suggestions in order.
Ask sts to compare with others then read aloud.
T explains the way to make suggestions:
What/ where shall+ S+ V...?
Let sb + V.
Shall + S + V....?
*Word cues/ picture cues:
a. play chess.
b. play football.
c. have an ice- cream.

Run through all cues first
Make suggestions using these words
Task 2. Matching
Ask sts to run through picture and words then match .
T gets feedback then helps sts to read aloud.
Explain the request of part 3
Asks sts to listen to the recording then check
Asks sts to practice:
A.Is there a theatre in your neighborhood?
B. Yes, there is/ No, there isn`t.
Task 3. Directions
Ask sts to look at the instruction then say loudly in English.
