GETTING STARTED & LISTEN AND READ


I. Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson, Ss know some information about Na’s new neighborhood.
- By the way, Ss can communicate each other by asking and answering the questions about the neighborhood.
1. Knowledge:
a. Vocabulary:
- close by = nearly by, corner, serve, pancake, tasty, delicious, try
b. Grammar:
- Present perfect tense.
2. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing
3. Attitude: Ss will be educated about the relationship with their neighborhood.
II. Preparation
1. Teacher: lesson plane, book, color chalks, pictures, cassette and tape
2. Students: books, notebooks, pen, ruler …

- What are there near your house?
- Are there any stores near your house?

- T asks Ss to match the names of places with the suitable pictures.
- Ss read suggested words then match them to the correct pictures.(work individually then compare the answers with a partner)
- T checks students’ answers by asking some questions :
Ex: What is this? - It’s a grocery store.
Is there a grocery store in your neighborhood / near your house?
- Ss answer.

II. Listen and read:

2. Is there a restaurant in this neighborhood?
* While-listening.

1. Na is new to the neighborhood.
2. Yes, it is.

- Ss practice reading new words and give the meanings of these words.
- T corrects any mistakes if necessary.
- Ss helps Ss read the whole words again.
- T calls two Ss to read these words again.
