Procedure :
I. Warm up : * Getting Started
Ask Ss to match the names of places with the suitable pictures.
Ask for their meanings to make sure Ss know exactly what they mean .

II. Pre - Reading :

Where does Na want to go ? ( Na wants to go a restaurant. )
III. While - Reading : Poster B. opened
Feedback :
Ask Ss to listen and read silently the dialogue between Nam and Na then ask them if their answers are correct or not .

Procedure :
I. Warm up : * Chatting
Show a letter and ask Ss some questions :
- What is this ? (a letter)
- Where can I post it to my friend ? (at the post office)
- How can I post it ? (stick stamp on it)
- How much ? (800 VN dong)
- Is it more expensive when I send a parcel ? ( yes. Of course)
- Have you ever sent a letter or a parcel ?
II. Presentation :
1. Pre - teach :
- Air - mail (explanation) : letter or parcel sent by air.
- Surface mail ( explanation) : letter or parcel sent by bus, train or
ship ...
- Charge (v) & (n)

2. Reading Comprehension :
Set the scene : Mrs. Kim wants to send a parcel to Qui Nhon , so she has to go to the post office.










Give Ss some questions :
Does Mrs Kim send the parcel air mail or surface mail ? Why ? ( Mrs Kim sends the parcel surface because it is much cheaper.)
What’s the weight of her parcel ? ( Her parcel is five kilograms. )
How much does she pay ? ( She pays 19,200 dongs. )
III. Practice :
Call on some Ss to ask and answer the questions
Call on a student to play the role of Mrs. Kim and practice the dialogue with T.( clerk)
Call on some pairs of Ss to practice the dialogue. T. corrects their pronunciation.
Ask Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs.
IV. Further Practice : Poster
Set the scene and ask Ss to make the dialogue : “Mrs Lan wants to post a letter air mail”
Ask Ss to make the dialogue between Mrs Lan and the clerk in the post office.
Elicit and encourage Ss to make the dialogues themselves.
Get Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs.
Expected Dialogue :
Clerk : Can I help you?
Mrs Lan : I want to send a letter to Kontum.
Clerk : Do you want to send it airmail or surface mail ?
Mrs Lan : I send it airmail. How much is it?
Clerk : Let me see. Mmm,15 grams, it’s only 1200 dongs.
Mrs Lan : Here you are.
Ckerk : Thank you.

Give other situations and ask Ss to make similar dialogues. The box on page 65 will help Ss know the price. ( words cues )

Divide class into 3 groups, each group prepare a dialogue.
Ask 2 pairs from each group to practice their dialogue. T. correct their pronunciation.
Get Ss to work in pairs, practicing 3 dialogues. T. moves around and help Ss.
V. Homework :
Ask Ss to write a dialogue on their notebook .
Do the exercise 3 (workbook - page 44, 45 )

Procedure :
I. Warm up : * Chatting
Ask Ss some questions :
 What are you going to do on the weekend ?
 Would you like to go to the movies ?
 Where are you going to go on the weekend ?
 Have you ever read an advertisement of “what’s on this week” ?
III. Pre – Listening : * Guessing Poster Groups of 4 B. shut
Set the scene : Na is talking to Nam about what she’s going to do on the weekend. Before you listen to the tape , looking at 4 advertisements of “What’s on this week?” and get Ss to guess what is in the blanks 2, 3, 4 .
















Feedback 1 : Three groups go to the BB to write their prediction by choosing the cues given :
1. MOVIES : The new comer (has been done)
2. PLACE : stadium , school ground , Town Ground .
3. ACTIVITY : play, English Speak Contest , picture Exhibition .
4. PLACE : gallery, cultural house, City Hall.
IV. While – Listening :
Listening task 1:
Ask Ss to listen to the tape twice and fill in the blanks in each advertisement.
