UNIT 11: THIS IS MY FAMILY.
Lesson 1: Part 1-2-3
I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to:
+ Use the words and phrases related to the topic My family.
+ ask and answer questions about family members, using
Who’s that ? He’s/ She’s + my (family member)
2. Skills:
- Develop Ss’speaking and listening skills
3. Language focus:
- Structure : Who’s that?- He’s my father./ She’s my mother.
- Vocabulary: man, next to, him, father, mother, young, nice, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, he, she
4. Attitude :
- Ss love English and their family more and more.
- Ss will be interested in practising their speaking and listening skills

1. Class organization: (2ms)
- Greeting : Good afternoon everyone !
- Revising language learnt unit by singing the Hide-and-seek song.

T gives instruction and guiding
“ There is a word with six letters about a group of people who live in a house and always love and share everything together ”
Devides the whole class into 2 teams and asks ss to name. Asks ss choose their team leader.
asks the teams to guess. ( gives a brushwork of hang man for a wrong letter . The winner is the team has more right letters and say the whole word firstly.)
congratulates the winner by clapping hands.
asks ss to chorus the whole word.
Draw ss’attention to the title of the unit and check comprehension :
“ This is my family “
Have them repeat it once or twice.
Ask Ss to identify the characters in the picture on page 6 and what they are saying.
+ Who is she ? (point to the picture)
+ Who is she ? (point to the picture)
+ Who are they ? (point to the picture)
+ Where are they ?
+ Do you guess what they are doing ?
“you are going to listen to Linda and Mai identify family members.
- Give the meaning of unfamiliar words and have ss repeat the language a few times
Play the recording twice and asks Ss to listen to the tape.
Play the recording for ss to listen and say along.
T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus two times.
Devides the whole class into 2 groups. One repeats Linda’s part, the other repeats Mai’s part.
Ask ss to practise in pairs.
Go around and help ss to reinforce their pronunciation.
Calls on another pair ( open – pairs, close – pair )

- Have ss look at pictures on Page 6. Elicit the characters in the pictures .
