UNIT 12: MUSIC
Period 77 - Part B: Speaking

I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
Know more vocabulary about music.
Understand more about the favorite kinds of music of Ss and your friends.
2. Skills:
Asking and answering questions about music.
Talking about their favorite kinds of music,singers, songs, bands, and musicians.
II. TEACHING AIDS:
- Textbooks, notebooks, pens, a board, chalk, a laptop, a projector, and speakers.
III. TEACHING METHODS:
Integrated, mainly communicative.
IV. ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:
Ssmay not have enough vocabulary to talk about the topic.

Warm-up
( 5 mins)
Mini game:
- There are 5 pieces of music.
- Ask Ss to listen and guess their names or what kinds of music they are listening.
- Review some kinds of music what Ss have learnt.
- Lead in the lesson today:
Today we will learn the ways to talk about your favorite kinds of music, the songs, the bands or musicians.

- Listen to T and play the game.
- Guess the names or what kinds of music Ss are listening.


- Write the topic on notebook.




Before you speak
(10 mins)
- Give Ss some new words/phrases:
keep sb happy: make sb happy : giữ/làmchoaivuivẻ
cheer sb up: make sb happier/more cheerful: làmchoaiđócảmthấyvuivẻhơn
Have the radio on = turn on the radio: bật/ nghe radio.
Easy to listen to : dễnghe
Help sb forget troubles: giúpaiđóquênđikhókhăn, mệtmỏi
Like (v) = (be) interested in = (be) keen on = (be) fond of = (be) crazy about sth: thích/ say mêcáigì
Prefer sth to sth: thíchcáigìhơncáigì

TASK 1: Read what Ha Anh says about music. Work in pairs. Answer the questions.
- Ask one Ss to read the passage aloud.
- Give the instructions to do task.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer the questions in 4 mins.
- Go around to observe Ss working and help them if necessary.
- Call some Ss to writetheir answers on the board. Besides, call some pairs to stand up to ask and answer the questions.
- Check Ss’ answers.
* QUESTIONS:

1.What kind of music does Ha Anh like?
2. Why does she listen to it?
3. What is her favorite band?
4. When does she listen to music?



- Listen to the T.


- Take notes on their notebook.
- Listen and repeat.












- Listen and read the text.
- Work in pairs to ask and answer the questions.



- Some Sswrite and read aloud their answers.
- Copy down correct answers on notebook.

TASK 2: Work in groups. Ask your partners questions to get information to complete the table below.
- Call one pairs to read aloud an example on page 127 and explain.
- Ask Ss to look at the table on page 127, read the information and explain what Ss have to do.
- Make model with one Sfirstas an example.
- Work in groups of 4 to interviewyour partners to get information to complete the table below in 7 mins.
- Ss use some questions to ask your partner.
QUESTIONS for interview:

+ What kind of music do you like?
+ Why do you like it?
+ Who is your favorite singer/ musician?
+ What is your favorite song/piece of music?
+ When do you listen to music?





- Read aloud the example on textbook.
- Look at the table of task 2 on page 127.
- Listen to the T and read the information in the table.
- Work in groups of 4 to do this task.
- Some pairs practice in class.








After you speak
(15 mins)
Task 3. Now report what you have found out about your partners.
- Ask Ss to prepare for their presentation about all information they have found about their partners.
- Ask Ss to use someexpressions in vocabulary part and use the simple tense.
