The Weather and Seasons (Lesson 1)
I. Objectives: After the lesson the students will be able to
Ask and answer question about the weather
II. Teaching aids:
Teacher’s aids: Student’s and teacher’s book, flashcards, recordings, puppets.
Students’ aids: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

1. Warm-up: (5’)
Ask Ss play the game Flat that picture and sing The Weather Song they have leant
2. Presentation: (13’)
Task 1: Look, listen and repeat.
Ask Ss to open your book on Page 47 and look at the picture, read the title and the text
Elicit their answers to identify the characters and get their comments on the picture, pausing at times to check Ss comprehension
Play the recording through for Ss to listen to the dialogue
Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat
Repeat the step when necessary
Divide the class into groups
Tell the class into groups to take turns to say the lines
Task 2: Present the new words and sentences pattern.
Introduce the new words:
season
forecast
north
south
cool
foggy
central
stormy
Read and ask Ss listen and repeat the news words a few times.
Ask Ss read in groups
Ask Ss read in pairs
Introduce the sentences
What will the weather be like tomorrow?

Explain the sentence
Ask Ss write the sentences in their notebook
3. Practice: (10’)
Task 3: Work in pairs.
Divide the class into four groups
Ask Ss work in pairs
Call on some pairs read in front of class
Task 4: Point, ask and answer
Have Ss look at the pictures a, b, c, and d on Page 47
T ell Ss that they are going to practice asking and answering, using these sentences patterns
Have Ss repeat each line in the bubbles a few time
Have Ss identify the characters in Picture a, b c and d
Pair work: ask Ss practice asking and answering, using the pictures in their book
Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class
Observe and give comments
Have whole class repeat the phrases practiced in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation
4. Production: (5’)
Task 5: Let’s sing
Ask Ss sing the song
5. Homework: (2’)
Ask Ss learn by heart
