I. Warm up:
* Check the old lesson.
- Ask some ss to go to the board and write down some old words.
-Ask some ss to say greeting sentences and self-introduce.
II. Presentation:
-Introduce some new words and structures.
How are you ? : Bạn có khỏe không ?
I’m fine : tôi khỏe
Thanks = thank you : cám ơn
And you ? : còn bạn thì sao ?

Bye = goodbye : tạm biệt
*goodbye : say to your teacher
*bye: say to your friend

1.Look, listen and repeat :
-Have Ss open the book page 8 and identify the characters in the pictures.
-Set the scene: “you are going to hear 2 conversations between Nam and Mai”
-Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are reading the dialogue.
-Play the recording again for Ss to repeat each line of the dialogue a few times.
-Ask the whole class to repeat the dialogue
-Call on some pairs to perform.
-Correct the mistakes.
2.Point and say
-Have Ss look at the conversation bubbles on page 8.
-Ask them to identify the characters in pictures
-Ask Ss to guess and say the lines in the bubbles.
-Have Ss repeat each line in the bubbles some times.
-Explain the situation.
-Ask Ss to fill the bubbles and repeat the step with other pictures
-The key:
Quan : How are you, Phong ?
Phong : Fine, thanks. And you ?
Quan : Fine, thank you

-Have Ss practice in pairs 4 situations.
-Go around and correct the mistakes.
-Call on some pairs to ask and answer.
-Ask the whole class to repeat the phrase practiced in chorus to reinforce the pronunciation

-Asks Ss to look at the pictures on page 8 describe the situation.
-Guide Ss to practice greeting and responding
III. Consolidation:
-In this lesson, Ss have learned how to greet and respond greeting.
