I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: Greet and self- introduce.
+Vocabulary: hello, hi, I, am, nice to meet you.
+Grammar/ structures: Hello/ hi. I’m + name.

II. Preparation:
1. Teacher: Lesson plan, student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students: Textbook, notebooks, workbooks.

1.Warm up/ warmer: Say hello to the class and introduce yourself, using Hello. I am + name. Walk around the class to say hello again to some pupils and ask them to answer.
2. New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat:
* Teach vocabulary:
Hello Hi Am = ‘m Nice to meet you.
-T asks Ss to listen and repeat these model sentences 3 times.
-T calls some Ss read these model sentences.
-T elicits the meaning of these model sentences from Ss.
Checking: What and where
Note: difference between Hi / Hello.
Hi is very informal. Ss can use with friends but not with an adult, e.g a teacher.
Hello is also informal and friendly but more formal than Hi. It can be used with teachers and other adults.
* Setting the sense: -T has Ss look at pictures, asks them to identify the characters in the pictures.
Who are in the pictures? What are they doing?
* Sentence Partners: - Hello
- Hi. I’m + name
I’m + name (I’m = I am)
-T calls some Ss to read the sentences in 1.1
-T plays CD three times listen and repeat.
-T asks Ss listen and repeat after the tape.
2. Point and say:
-T asks Ss to open their books page 6.
-T asks Ss to answer the question:
+ Who are they?
-T asks Ss to work in pairs and practice
“Hello. I’m ……
Hi,…. I’m……..”
- T models first.

3. Consolidation: -T asks Ss to focus on the structure once again and retell the content of the lesson.
