I. Objectives

a. Knowledge:
- Talking about past activities and hobbies.
- Vocabulary: socialize
- Grammar: present simple tense and past simple tense (review)
b. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing
c. Attitude: Talking about past activities and hobbies.

1. Teacher: lesson plane, book, color chalks, pictures, MP3

1. Warm up (5’)

Content
- Ask ss some sentences
- According to the previous lesson (B1), now tell me “What did Hoa do in the evening?”
- Ask Ss to answer.
* Questions:
+ what do you do in the evening?
+ How about doing homework?
“What did Hoa do in the evening?”
2. Knowledge formation activities (36’)
- Introduce new lesson. Now, listen
- Show the pictures on the board (relating to Hoa’s activities in the evening)
- Explain the word: socialize.
3. Read
* Ss read the text clearly and write the things Hoa does in the evening
* New words:
- rarely (adv)
- socialize (v)
- Have Ss read the text loudly
- Ask Ss to read the text silently
(on page 151)
- Ask Ss answer some questions about the text.
- Ask Ss to answer.
- Guide how to do.
- Aks Ss to work in groups. Then write on the board.
- Correct and give feekback.
* Answer the question:
- What did Hoa and her friends often do together?
+ They talked and listened to music helped each other with their homework, or they played tennis, etc.
* Make a list of the things Hoa does in the evening. Use the simple present tense.
- She visits friends.
- They listen to music and talk with her friends.
- They help each other with their homework.
- She plays table tennis and chess with her friends.
- She goes to the library and borrows books.
3. Consolidation (4’)
- T asks.
- Ss answer
a. Why didn’t Hoa see movies and eat out in the evening?
-> Because they were far too expensive.
b. Where did they go to borrow books?
-> They go to the library to borrow books.
c. Was there a puplic library in her village?
-> No, there wasn’t.
