A/Objectives : By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to use the present perfect tense with " already, yet,ever & never".
- Recognize the difference between the present perfect and the past simple tense
B/ Teaching aids: Text book, charts
C/ Ways of working: T- WC, team work, Individual work, pais work.
D/ Procedures:
I/ Warm up: Guessing game: What`s your job?
- Call on a student to go to the board and give him/ her a job name
- Ask the rests of the class to guess the job by asking Yes/ No questions.
- The chosen Student can only answer Yes or No.
* Example:
+ Do you work with children?
+ Do you wear uniform?
+ Do you travel a lot?
- Tell the students someone who can guess the right job will get a point and take the placeof the last chosen student.
II/ Language focus 1:
1- Presentation:
- Set the scene: " Ba`s mother`s has just been back from market. She wanted him to do some housework while she was at the market Ba made notes in his diaryand check (V)the work he has done.Look at Ba`s diary"
- Show the chart ( Ba`s diary) on the board
. Do homework (V) --> (already)
. Tidy the room (X) --> ( not yet)
. Turn off the washing machine (V) --> ( already)
. Call and tell Aunt Le to have lunch (V)--> (already)
- Ask questions and elicit the answers from Ss
T : Has Ba done his homework yet?
St: Yes, he has already done his homework.
T : Has he tidied the room yet?
St : No, he hasn`t tidied the room yet.
- Have Ss repeat and write the answers on the board.
**Concept check: The present perfect tense with yet and already
* Use: - Yet : used in question and negative statements
- Already : used in positive statements
* Positions: - Yet : at the ned of the sentence
- Already: . between have & past participle
. at the end of the sentence.

III/ Language focus 2: Questions and answers
- Ask Ss to look at the flight information tables and ask questions to show the models.
T : Has the flight to Vientiane departed yet?
St : Yes, it has already departed.
T : Has the flight from Los Angeles arrived yet?
St : No, it hasn`t arrived yet.
- Ask Ss to take turns to ask and answer the questions.
- Call on some Ss to demomstrate the exchange in front of the class.
- Give feed back and correct.
IV/ Language focus 3 :
1.Presentation :- Set the scene
- Use Vietnamese to elicit the models
1. I`ve ever been to Dalat. --> (Finished)
(Tôi đã từng đến Đà Lạt)
2. My parents have gone to Dalat for 3 days.--> (incompleted)
** Concept check : Present perfect tense
Use: - Finished actions --> Indefinite time
- Incomplete actions --> for, since, recently...
Form : S + have/ has + P2

1. Contrast the past simple tense and the present perfect tense:
**Eg: ( Elicit the example from Ss)
a. Her family moved to Hanoi 3 years ago.
b. He has never met such a handsome boy before.
--> The Past simple sentence : Finished action with definite time.
--> The present perfect tense : an action (not) taking place from the past to the present.
2. Practice :
- Ask Ss to complete the dialogues on page 146 orally.
- Call on some pairs to give their answers.
- Give feedback and correct

- Divide the class into 2 teams
- Tell S the team raising their hands first (after the teacher finishes the question) will have the right to answer the qyestion.
- Inform the questions
" Who was the inventor of .............?" Or "Who invented ..........?"
