INTRODUCTION
I. Aims
- To introduce the textbook- English 10
- To introduce the way of testing, learning English
- To set up some class regulations.
- To make ss like English more
II. Objectives
1. Language Knowledge:
By the end of the lesson, students in class 10A6,7,9 will be able to:
- know more about the the structure of the text book, the class regulations, the tests, and some knowledge about English
2. Skills:
- Skills : Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing
- Competence: Self-study; observing and describing; problem solving; practicing; communication; cooperation
3. Attitude:
- raise students’ awareness of the importance and necessity of English

IV.Anticipated Problems
SS may be ashame to introduce themselves in English and difficult to listen and understand when the T speaks all in English so T should hold pair works and give them suggestions

1.Introducing Yourself
15 mins
-Introduce T then ask Ss to introduce themselves in pairs
-Ask SS to work in pairs to ask and answer questions introducung them selves
-Listen to T then introduce themselves in English in pairs
-Some pairs stand up to introduce them selves

2.Introducing the text book
10 mins
-Ask Ss to open the text book to read the index, the introduction then answer questions
1. How many units are there in the text books?
2.How many parts are there in the text books? What are they?
-Listen and give SS correct answers
a. Contents:
- Sixteen units.
A.Reading (Passage length: from 180 to 220 words) is to provide information and new words, and to develop reading skills for Ss
+Speaking is to develop speaking skills for Ss by speking in pairs, in groups and individually.
+ Listening includes dialoges and passages to practice listening comprehension, enhense Ss’ pronunciation and provide structures for Ss
+ Writing includes Ss’ skill development exercises such as Writing letters, describing,…
+ Languages Focus includes 2 parts: Pronunciation and Grammar and vocabularies
b. The Structure of the book: - There are sixteen units. In each unit, there are five main parts: Reading, Speaking, Listening, and Writing
+ Language focus: - Pronunciation
- Grammar and vocabulary.
-read the text book and answer T’s questions in English

3. Introducing the tests
5 minutes
 Number of tests per term:
- at least one oral test
- three fifteen - minute tests
- two forty-five – minute tests (testing 4 skills: Listening- Reading- Writing and Language Focus)
- one final term test

4. Setting up the class regulation
5 minutes
- Ss have to be active and enthusiastic about the lesson. They should join in activities to improve skills. Ss have to have 1 note book, 1 exercise book and 1 text book, pencils, etc.

5. Play a game
10 minutes
-Guessing names of objects in the house
-Ask ss to go to the board to play in 2 teams
+ The rule: each team will write a card containing 20 letter in words about objects in the house. Then read it to the other group who have to to speak aloud a word containing that letter. The winner group is the the one finding more words
-Remark
-Play the game in 2 teams

UNIT 1. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF......
A. READING
I. Aims
- To read a passage about a day in the life of a farmer.
II. Objectives
1. Language Knowledge:
By the end of the lesson, students in class 10A6,7,9 will be able to:
- know more words concerning daily activities of people
2. Skills:
- Reading skills: guessing the meaning of words in contexts, scanning specific information in the texts and answering questions about the texts.
-Competence: Self-study; observing and describing; problem solving; practicing; communication; cooperation
3. Attitude:
- raise students’ awareness of the importance and necessity of working in our life
- raise students` awareness of the importance of their
