1. Knowledge:
By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to:
- Vocabulary:
+ memorize the lexical items related to the topic community developments
+ use the lexical items related to the topic community developments correctly in context.
+ understanding and using suffixes -ed vs. -ing; -ful vs. -less
- Pronunciation:
+ pronounce the stress in two-syllable words with the same spelling
+ distinguish the stress in two-syllable words with the same spelling
- Grammar:
+ distinguish the uses of the past simple and past continuous tenses
+ use the past simple and past continuous tenses with when and while
2. Skills:
- Reading skills: read for general and specific information about volunteering activities
- Listening skills: listen for general and specific information in an announcement for volunteers
- Speaking skills: express feelings, prepare and display describing pictures related to the topic in
the unit, express opinions about benefits of volunteering activities, act out a conversation, and
role play a conversation.
- Writing skills: write an application letter for volunteer work
