UNIT 14: ACTIVITIES
SECTION B: WHAT’S ON?
LESSON 4: B1 - 2

I. Objectives:
Teaching aims: Students learn how to express what they do in their free time, to invite or suggest some one and reply to an invitation or suggestion. They can tell about their favor and their favorite TV program
II. Preparations: Textbook, pictures, cassette player.
III. Procedures:

1. Warm - up (5’)
- Have Ss answer some eliciting questions
What TV program do you want to see?
Do you like watching cartoons?
- Tell some famous cartoons


- Listen to the teacher and try to answer the questions




2. Presentation (7’)
- Look at the picture on TV and tell what kind of film is on


- Play the tape for the students


- Listen to the tape
- Practice the dialogue

3. Practice (20’)
- Ask them to pick out the sentences in which there are “ like + to infinitive/ V-ing”, “ prefer + to infinitive/ V-ing”
Ex: - I like to watch programs about teenagers
I prefer taking part in them
- Have them practice with their partner
- Ask questions and have them answer
Does Nga watch a lot of TV? Why /why not?
What does ba like to watch on TV?
What does Nga like to watch on TV?
Why doesn’t Nga like music programs on TV?
What is Nga going to do this evening?
-Correct the Ss’ answers.

No, she doesn’t. Because there aren’t many good programs for teenagers.

4. Production (11’)
- Show them the pictures and programs listed.
- Ask them what their favorite program is
- Tell them the purpose of this listening exercise
- Ask them note the times of the programs while listening

- The movies “ A Fistful of Dollars” start at seven and the Late News is a quarter to ten
