UNIT 1: GREETINGS
SECTION A: HELLO
Lesson 1: A1 – 2 – 3 – 4
I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Educational aim: learn how to greet people politely, introduce oneself.
2. Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to greet people “Hi / Hello”, introduce oneself and others “I’m … / My name’s…”
II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette player and tape, pictures

1. Warm - up: (5’)
- Have some greetings:
+ What’s your name? – My name’s
+ How are you? – I’m fine. Thanks.




2. Presentation: (15’)
- Introduce new words:
1. Hi / Hello:
2. Name (n):
3. I (pro)
4. My (poss.a)
5. Tobe (am / is / are)

- Ask Ss to practice the new words.
- Introduce structure:

Hello / Hi
I am ( I‘m )... / My name is (‘s) …


- Ask Ss to say the greetings and introduce themselves.


3. Practice: (15’)
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures.
- Let Ss play the role of Lan, Ba, Nga and Ba.
+ I’ am Lan.
+ I’ am Nga.
+ My name is Ba.
+ My name is Nam


4. Production: (8’)
- Give 6 names: Minh, Hai, Hoa, Ha, Linh, Thanh; ask them to practice greetings and introduce them.
- Call Ss to practice in front of class.

5. Homework: (2’)
- Ask Ss to learn how to greet people, introduce themselves
- Prepare next lesson: Unit 1: A5, 6, 7/ p.12.
