I/ AIM: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read about Hoa’s family, Lan’s family for information. At that time, they can ask and answer about their family. They should be taught to share the chores.
II/ LANGUAGE CONTENT:
Vocabulary: grow, raise, cattle, busy, hard, till, take care of, sick, elder brother, younger sister, journalist, job, housewife.
Grammar: Present simple tense
III/ TECHNIQUES: Net work, Grid, multiple choice, interview, what and where, , antonym, synonym, dialogue build, write – it – up, rub out and remember dialogue, eliciting.
IV/ TEACHING AIDS: Picture of some jobs, tape transcript.

Net work
- Students work in two groups. They write some words relating to jobs.
Interview/ Pair work
- Students take turn to ask and answer about the job.
- Ex: - What do you do? I am a student.
- What does he do? – He is a student.
….
INTRODUCTION
- In the modern life, there are many jobs such as doctors, farmers, teachers, …. The lesson today helps you know more about the some of them.
Presentation the dialogue: (Picture)
Teacher says: Look at the picture. This
is a farmer. He works on the farm. He grows vegetables. He raises cattle. He works hard from morning till night.
- Look at another picture.
- What does he do?
- He is a doctor.
- What does he do?
- He takes care of sick children
* Look at him. He is a journalist. He writes for Ha Noi newspaper.
Teacher helps students identify the right
meanings.
- What do the words mean in Vietnamese?
- Students listen and repeat the words chorally and individually correctly.
What and where
Teacher helps students remember the key words.

- What is your job?

- What is his job?
- He is a farmer.
* Explanation:
- What is your job? means “What do you do?”
Students write model sentences into
their notebooks.
Situation: You are going to hear the
conversation between Lan and Hoa. Before listening, Guess the right word in the blank.
Teacher helps students recognize the
answer.
* You listen: Do you have any brothers or sisters?
- Yes. I have a younger sister.
Students work in pairs. They play the
roles of Lan and Hoa in the dialogue B1/ P33
Teacher checks some pairs - their
pronunciation and intonation.
Teacher guides students read the
dialogue again, and then they underline the key words for the questions in the grid.
Some of the students write the full
answers on the board. Teacher corrects their writing.
Teacher’s help:

- Are they happy?
- Do they like their jobs?

they write the answer the questions.

Students work in pairs. They take turn
to ask and answer about your age, date of birth, family, address.
* Teacher writes some key words on the
board. Beginning the questions with:
- How old …you?
- What … date of birth/ address?
- Who …. live with?
Teacher gives some marks.

Teacher asks: Do you love your mother and
father?

Teacher gives them some advice.
