UNIT 6 : AFTER SCHOOL.
B. WHAT DO YOU DO ? ( B3 )
I . OBJECTIVES:
- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to give/ accept/ refuse invitations, eg. “Would you like to come…………..?- Yes, I’d love to.
- Focus on listening and speaking skills.
II . TEACHING AIDS :
Cassette recorder and tape , extra board .
III . PROCEDURES :
1. Class organization:
- Greetings.
- Checking the attendances.
2.Review of previous lesson:
- Call an average student to list activities American ss like to do in free time:
* Posible answer:
- Learn to play the guitar, go shopping, eat in fast food restaurants, watch TV, listen to music, go to the movies, collect things, help old people.
3 . New lesson :
Teacher’s Activities
- T introduces new words & structures
* Structure:
- Situation: “My birthday is on Dec 30. I’ll have a party.”
Would you like to come to my house?
- Have ss repeat and give structure.
Would you like + to-inf?
* Check understanding:
+ see a movie
+ go to Lan’s party
+ come to my house for dinner
T/F statements:
- Ask ss to listen to the tape and say statements T/F. Using extra board.
- Get answers.
- Give feedback.
- Let ss practice dialogues

- Listen, repeat and give structure.
- Ss repeat.
- Say sentences.
- Work in groups.
- Give answers.

- Get some pairs to check and correct mistakes.
- Ask ss to make similar dialogue.
Example exchange:
- Practice before class
- Pairwork.
- Open pairs
- Closed pairs.

* T/F statements:
a. Nga’s birthday is on Monday. (F)
b. Nga is going to see a movie after lunch.(T)
c. Hoa is going to Nga’s house.(F)
* Example exchange:

S2: I’ll be there.
S1: I’ll see you on ………….
4. Consolidation:
Ask ss to remind structures “Would you like + to-inf?”
* Responses:
I’d love to./ I’d love to, but……………………./ I’m sorry. I can’t.
5. Homework:
- Coppy the answers.
- Prepare Language Focus ( 1-3 ). Review present progressive tense.
