Lesson 1 : - Getting started.

Ojectives:
By the end of the lesson , students will be able to know about some places Lan and her friend went to and the structure with “ wish “.
Teaching aids:
Text book, pictures, chalks,……………..
Work arrangement:
Individual work, pair work,……
Procedure:
* Warm up :
Use getting started to warm up.
Ask students to releaze the places in the pictures and ask them to answer the questions :
“What would you take your friend to if she visited you? ”
Give feedback.
I. Vocabulary :

- ( to ) keep in touch :

Use “ slap the board to check meaning.
II. Listen and read :
1. Multiple choise :
Ask Ss to listen to the tape and read the text tiwice.
Call some Ss to read the text loudly.
Ss read the tape again and find out the correct answers p/7.

2. Comprehension questions :
Have Ss read the text once more to answer some questions.
a. where is Maryam from?
b. How long have Lan and Maryam been peenpals ?
c. What was Maryam really impressed ?

e. What did Maryam want before leaving Viet Nam ?
Give feedback and correct.

She was really impressed by the beauty of the city and by the frienddliness of its people.

Tell Ss that they will learn the structures with “ wish” in language focus. But they should know the meaning to understand the text.

Get Ss to work in pairs to find out the greetings that can be used to make friends.

2. Matching :
Ask Ss to read the statements then put them in the correct order to make a meaningful dialogue and copy it in the their notebooks.

Have Ss practice the dialogue in pairs .

Give Ss some mass verbs then ask Ss to find out the past form of them.

Ask Ss to guess 3 things Tim and Carol are doing.
Give feedback and correct .
* While – listening :
2. Choose the correct picture.
- Ss listen to the tape tiwce to check their predictions and find out the corrrect answers.

Have Ss to listen to the tape once more to check the last time.
