I. Aim: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify how to write a thank you note for somebody. At that time they will write a thank you note for somebody for doing something.
II. Language content:
Vocabulary: Thank you for …, cheer …up, come out of, bored.
Grammar: Simple tenses (review)

Say the dialogues in pairs
1/ A: Could you give me a bandage, please?
B: Sure. Here you are.
B: Thank you.
2/ A: Shall I get you some medicine?
B: No, thank you.
INTRODUCTION
You want to thank somebody for doing
something for you. You can say “Thank you” or you can write a thank you note. The lesson today will help you write a thank you note.
Visual
Teacher asks students to look at some
flowers and mime:
* The questions can be used:
- Who wrote the letter? – Nga.
- What can be written at the beginning of the letter?
- Thank you very much for …
- What kind of the letter? – Thank you note.
- Why does Nga write the thank you note?
- To thank Hoa for the flowers she sent her.
- How were the flowers?
- They were beautiful.
- When did Nga come out of the hospital?
- On Monday morning.

Teacher helps students remember the
sentences which can be used in a thank you note.

Completing the letter
Students read the letter Nga wrote to Hoa.
And then they use the correct verbs in the box.
* Teacher gives them clues:
