Unit 1: Hello
Lesson 1: Period 1: 1, 2, 3
I.Mục tiêu
- Sau bài học, HS có thể:
+ Sử dụng các từ và cụm từ liên quan đến chủ đề Introduction.
+ Chào hỏi người khác và giới thiệu về bản thân, sử dụng Hello/Hi. I’m + (name).
+ Rèn kĩ năng nghe, nói cho HS.
+ Giáo dục HS ý thức ham học bộ môn, mạnh dạn trong giao tiếp.
II.Ngôn ngữ đầu vào
- Mẫu câu: Hello/ Hi. I’m + name.
- Từ vựng: hi, hello, I’m, nice to meet you.
III.Nguồn học liệu: Student`s book, pictures, recording, CD, …

1.Warm up.
- Greet the class by saying Hello. Encourage Ss to answer with Hello. Repeat the procedure several times. Then introduce yourself to the class by pointing to yourself and say: I’m Mrs + your name.
- Go around the class and say your name to the different Ss. Help individuals respond with Hello. I’m + his/her name.
2.New lesson.
2.1.Look, listen and repeat.
- Point to the 1st pic and elicit the answers of who the characters are. Show Ss how to find the answers by reading the text in the speech bubbles.
- Have Ss repeat the text in the bubbles a few times. Repeat the procedure with the 2nd pic.
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording for Ss to listen and say along.
2.2.Point and say.
- Point to each character in the pic and elicit his/her name and the words to fill the gaps. Write the whole sentences on the board and have Ss repeat the sentences a few times. Repeat the procedure with the 2nd pic.
- Do choral and individual repetition, using the characters’ names as prompts, until Ss feel confident to say the sentences without their books.
+ Call an open pair to the front of the class to give a model practise for the class to watch. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary.
- Get Ss to work in pairs. Check as a class.
2.3. Let’s talk.
- Point to each character eliciting the name. Ask Ss to guess what the children say. Fill the gaps and write the sentences on the board. Have Ss to repeat the sentences a few times.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to interact.
- Call a few pairs to act out the greetings and responses in front of the class. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary.
3. Reinforcement.
- Cosolidate the lesson.
4.Home-link:
- Ss learn all the new vocabulary at home.
