UNIT 14: FREETIME FUN
I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to :
1. Knowledge: - talk about TV programs, listen and write the time of the programs.
- Vocabulary:a kind, (to) prefer, a sport show, cartoon, music programs.
- Grammar: What kind of programs do you like?
2. Skills: Integrated skills, reading, listening, writing and speaking skill.
3. Attitude: seriousness, enthusiasm, attention,…
4. Capacity: - To help Ss know how about TV programs.
II. METHODS AND TECHNIQUES
1. Methods: Communicative approach, pair work, group work.
2. Techniques: Dividing group, giving assignment, putting questions, brainstorming
III. PREPARATION:
1. Teacher: Textbook, pictures, poster, cassette
2. Students: textbook, notebook, pencils,….

- T divides the class into 4 groups.
- T prepares 4 posters with the topic: TV programs.
- T asks Ss to discuss in group and list the names of TV programs.
- Ss listen to the teacher and then discuss in group and list the names of TV programs
- The group has more correct answers will be the winner.
Lead in the new lesson: There are many programs that you watch TV. What’s on TV tonight? We’re going to learn Unit 14: Freetime fun.

Activity 1: Warm up (5’) Brainstorming

- T uses the pictures, examples,...to teach new words.
- T writes new words on the board and asks Ss to look at the pictures or examples to guess the Vietnamese meaning.
- Ss look at the pictures or examples to guess the Vietnamese meaning.
- T reads each word 3 times, asks Ss to listen and repeat.
- Ss listen and repeat.
- T calls some Ss to repeat.
- T sets the sense: You are going to listen to the dialogue between Nga and Ba.
- T asks Ss to close the book and then listen the dialogue between Ba and Nga to tick True or False.
- Ss close the book and listen the dialogue between Ba and Nga to tick True or False.
- T plays the tape for Ss to listen.
- T asks Ss to open the book to check the answer.
- Ss open the book and check the answer.
