OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
Knowledge
General knowledge:Know what the good/bad habits are and how to kick the bad habits
Language: Know + Vocabulary about good/bad habits
+ Structures “don’t + Vinfinitive” or
“shouldn’t + Vinfinitive”
+Present simple

Skills
Discuss with classmates about why some habits are good or bad for theirs.
Make a list of Dos or Don`ts to kick bad habits and report to the class

Attitudes
Be more confident when reporting to the class
Apply some ways to make good habits
Reject bad habits.

Warm-up
(8mins)
Introduction
Jig-saw game( see appendix 1)
Explain the rules:
" I have a picture with 8 hiden pieces. Each piece is connected with one question. However, I have 3 lucky pieces that you needn`t answer the question.
Your task is to choose the number you like and answer the question if had. You can be received a small gilf with each piece.
Please try to guess the topic today!"
Lead-in: Inform the class of the lesson objective: talking about habits.

Activities
Task 1(7mins)What are your habits?
Aim: to identify good habits and bad habits from some given ones.
Ask Ss what they think of their habits and make alist the habits they think they have.
Ask Ss to look at the list of habits and decide which ones are good and which ones are bad in Task 1 (Page20).
Ask Ss to explain their choice.
Show the video (see appendix 2) about more bad habits.
Ask Ss to write down in their notebook.



Task 2(8mins)Discussion
Aim: to get students to have more insight into habits.
Ask Ss to work in pairs or groups and discuss why some of the habits are good and why some are bad by giving evidence and proof to support their ideas.
Give them example:
" In my opinion, doing regular exercise is good because it helps me reduce the stress."
Call some Ss stand up and give their answer.

Task 3 (7 mins)Giving your opinion
Aim: To assist students’ speaking by using relevant information.
Ask Ss to read the text quickly and choose the things they think they can or can’t follow. Then, encourage them to explain their decision to the class.
Ask Ss to read the phrase in the "Watch out!"box and try to find out the meaning of the idiom.

Task 4 (10mins)Kicking a bad habit.
Aim: - to help students develop their confidence in speaking by giving personal opinions
to develop students’ ability in free speaking by applying advice to kicking a bad habit.
Give instruction:
"I will devide the class into 4 groups. I have 4 pictures about bad habits. Each group choose one bad habit and make a list Dos and Don`ts to kick it."
Show the pictures (see appendix 3).
After that, call Ss to share their lists with each other and report to class.

Do task 1.
Explain.
Watch the video and take note.

How to study English well
Give instruction:
" Imagine your friends have just failed in the English exams. She/He was so disappointed about the exam result. Now give her/his some advides to have the habits in order to study English well."
Ask Ss to work in pairs and make the conversation.
Calls some Ss stand up and report their results.
