I. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES :
+ Language content :
- To help students understand specific information about the population of the world.
- To provide the sts vocabulary and master the content of the lesson to guess the words meanings, and answer the questions .
+ Language function: By the end of the lesson, the students know some more about the population of the world.
+ Educational aim : To make the students aware of the importance of the world population.
1. Language :
a. Vocabulary: figure, reach, double, resource, support, limit,
b. Structure : There are / there is ; It is time + S+ V-ed
2. Skill: Integrated skills
3.Education factor : To educate the sts to persuade other people to use birth control method.

I. Lead – in :
- Shows the pictures in the text book and asks:
1. What can you see in the picture?
2. How many children have they got?
3. Do you think that is the reason why they are poor?
- Helps the sts to find out the answer
- Gives the feedback .
- Leads to the new lesson
II. Pre – reading :
- Asks the sts to work in pairs to ask and answer the questions
1. Where can you find these scenes?
2. What does each of the pictures tell you?
3. Do you think that the larger in population a country is , the stronger it is ? Why ? why not ?
- Calls some pairs to ask and
answer some questions in the textbook
- Corrects their answer
- Pre-teaches vocabulary :
+ figure : number
+ Reach(v): to be able to touch s.th
+ Double(v): to make s.th twice bigger
+ Resource(n): land, water, minerals, forests
+ Support (n): to meet the demand
+ Limit (v): allow a certain amount
- Helps the sts pronounce these words
Introduces a new structure:
Eg: It is time you had to work hard
Structure: It is time +S + V-ed
- Explains the use of this structure
- Gives more example
Ex: It is time we did some thing to save the earth.
- Asks Sts to find the sentence in the passage having the same structure.
III.While – reading :
- Asks the sts to read the passage in silence .
Task 1:
- Asks the sts to read the task 1 and explains the requirement of the task
- Asks the sts to work with a partner to do the exercise
- Helps the sts if they meet difficult
- Checks their answer in front of the class
- Gives the keys
Task 2
- Asks the sts to work in groups to ask and answer the questions after rereading
- Calls each pair of sts to answer the questions
Asks the sts to close their books and answer the questions
- Checks their answer in front of the class
- Gives the keys

IV.Post – reading :
- Asks the sts to work in pairs to find out 5 world largest countries. Say where they are and which is the richest and which is the poorest countries.
- Calls some sts to give their answers
The 5 largest countries in population are : China, India, The United states, Russia, Indonesia.

Asia : China , India , Indonesia.
Europe : Russia
