Warm up (5’)


Greetings: Revise Hi/ hello, Nice to see you again. Say the chant on P.10.
Explain the word nationality in Vietnamese before introducing the new lesson.

Look, listen and repeat (10’)











Tell Ps that they are going to read a story which characters ask and answer qs about one’s nationalities.
Have them to look at the pics. Introduce the story by pointing to each character and ask: Who is this?, where are they?, What is she doing? What does she say?(a. Akiko is at registrar’s desk The registrar asks Akiko’s name. the registrar wants to know Akiko’s country. She wants to know Akiko’s nationality.)
Play the recording a few times for Ps to listen and repeat. If have time, Asks ps to listen and repeat.

Point and say (10’)















Tell ps that they are going to practise asking and answering qs about where s/o is from, using What nationality are you?- I’m +( nationality )
Have them read the reminder box at the bottom of the page and tell them how to form the nationality from the name of a country.
Point to the 1st pic and get one p to ask What nationality are you? And an other answer- I’m Vietnamese.
Repeat the same procedure with the other pics.
Ask Ps to work in pairs, pointing to the characters speaking.
Call few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.
Language note: (What nationality are you? = What’s your nationality? )
Listen and repeat after the teacher’ guides.
